Last Sunday afternoon, we went to the grand opening of the new Brookline Winter Farmers' Market at the Arcade Building on Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner.
Some of our favorite vendors from the town's seasonal outdoor market moved inside this wonderful, 1927 architectural gem for the winter. And, they've given us a reason to get to know the wonderful small businesses that are permanently located in this space. We will be doing a follow up story on the Arcade and its businesses!
One end of the array of vendors was anchored by Stillman's Farm with both produce, eggs, and meat …
… while Silverbrook Farm had their selection of organic food and jams at the other end. That's Chef JJ Gonson from Cuisine en Locale checking one more thing off her shopping list. JJ moved from vendor-to-vendor saying hello to friends, shopping the market, and leaving smiling faces in her wake.
Between the two were vendors with strong followings like Clear Flour Bread, Nella Pasta, Cape Cod Fish Share, Cannistraci Fine Foods, Cook's Farm Orchard, Samira's Homemade, and out of her food truck and warm inside our pal Diane from The Cupcakory!

We hope by next week market organizers will have lots of balloons, signs, and perhaps someone dancing in a broccoli suit outside both market entrances to let passersby know what's happening inside. But, in case they don't, here's what you need to help you find it.
The building is at 318 Harvard Street (map) two blocks from the Coolidge Corner MBTA stop on the Green C-line. That's the point were Babcock Street meets Harvard. From the parking lot on Centre Street, in the rear, it has a large mural to help you find your way.
This market is scheduled to operate until June.
