It has become so annoying around our place that we are now screening all our calls. If your name and phone number isn’t in our system, you get the following message.
“You have reached our call screener. Please leave a message unless this is a political, polling, research, marketing or sales call, then put this number on your DO NOT CALL list.”
Feel free to adapt our message for your own voice mail. And, ask your elected officials to support expansion of the DO NOT CALL Registry/List to the groups that are currently allowed to annoy you.

Last year we heard great reviews on the Boston Local Food Festival. That put it on our calendar for this past weekend. We made our way to the Greenway, checked in with a few old friends, and got to know some local food folks who were new to us.
Jeff Barry explains Boston Organics to a visitor. We've been a customer of his for years and were able to tell this woman what a great service he operates!

We've seen Shady Oaks Organics' mushrooms at the Copley Farmers' Market but at the festival we met and interviewed the cultivator, Leif Johnson.

We'd love to see this great opportunity for local food businesses to show off their wares grow and prosper so we also have a couple of suggestions for the organizers. We would have stayed a lot longer and visited many more vendors but shortened our stay.
The music was disruptive and way, way too loud. We found ourselves skipping all the booths that were near the musicians.
It was too crowded to really see everything. Using the whole Greenway with vendors on one side of the path and seating and eating areas on the other side would have been a great service to both vendors and visitors.

This week's Sunday Dog is Fumar, one of our neighbors from a recent trip to Provincetown.
Part of our entertainment was watching Miss Fumar (that means smoke in Spanish) playing chase the ball on the tidal flats in front of the apartments.
This smokey gray beauty came right over to meet our Poppy when she saw us out on our patio. She said a polite hello but really had one eye on the beach where her guys patiently tossed the ball time-after-time to keep her happy and healthy.
We were impressed by the sparkle of her jewel encrusted collar and were suprised to see that she wore her bling right into the water because chasing an orange ball was more important than keeping her "diamonds" clean.
Fumar, you are a true athlete and a very classy lady dog! Hope we share a lawn with you again someday!

Every time I walked by this display last week on the steps of Monty's in Provincetown, I had to smile. I called these "Happy Gargoyles" and thought about the touch of whimsy they would add along a garden path. Since these don't actually act as downspouts, they really should be called "grotesques."
I also kept seeing, in these faces, some features of people I knew– people who laughed a lot and had a twinkle in their eye. Do you see someone you recognize in these faces?
