Financial Services:<\/strong> <\/span><\/strong>As the British would say, this is a Bank Holiday with both banks and the stock markets in the United State closed. International markets are open.<\/p>\n

City, Town, State, and Federal offices and facilities are closed:<\/span> <\/strong>This includes schools, libraries, and the Postal Service. Only emergency services are available.<\/p>\n

Parking & Street Sweeping<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Boston Parking:<\/span><\/strong> You don't have to feed the meters. Other parking rules apply.<\/p>\n

Street <\/strong>Sweeping<\/strong>:<\/strong><\/span> The City says<\/a>, "On City holidays<\/a>, we suspend street sweeping during the day, but we still sweep streets at night."<\/p>\n

Trash Collection & Recycling<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Boston Trash Collection <\/span>for Thanksgiving week<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The city has changed the way it publishes the schedule for holidays so that you now have to go to the<\/span> city site and look up your specific address<\/a> in order to get information<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

(Note that trash pick-ups scheduled for Thanksgiving day in our neighborhood have been cancelled with pickup resuming on the next normally scheduled day.)<\/p>\n
