Along with <strong>John Adams<\/strong> and <strong>James Bowdoin<\/strong>, the founders included <strong>Samuel Adams<\/strong>, then a delegate to the Continental Congress; <strong>John Hancock<\/strong>, Governor of Massachusetts; and <strong>Robert Treat Paine &#8230;&quot;&#0160;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the history of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, \u201cDuring the nineteenth century the Academy shared quarters with the Boston Athen\u00e6um and later the Massachusetts Historical Society.
