Our favorite is from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.clearflourbread.com\/\" target=\"_self\">Clear Flour Bread<\/a>. a fully caramelized crust for those seeking bold crunch and mildly sweet flavor.&quot; It&#39;s always the first item we order at the bakery or at their stand at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brooklinema.gov\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=679%3Abrookline-farmers-market&amp;catid=256%3Afarmers-market&amp;Itemid=544\" target=\"_self\">Brookline Farmers&#39; Market.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Important tip:<\/strong> This bread is not available until after 1pm so plan your shopping trip with that in mind.<\/p>\n<p>When the poster, <a target=\"_self\"><strong title=\"doctorandchef\"><strong title=\"doctorandchef\">doctorandchef<\/strong><\/strong>,<\/a>&#0160;over on Boston&#39;s Chowhound board<a href=\"http:\/\/chowhound.chow.com\/topics\/812504\" target=\"_self\"> asked for the areas&#39;s best Parisian-style Baguette,<\/a> Penny quickly nominated the Ancienne French and it won applause from the locals. (That conversation also discusses other wonderful, local, favorite baguettes.)<\/p>\n<p>Some of the criteria <a target=\"_self\"><strong title=\"doctorandchef\"><strong title=\"doctorandchef\">doctorandchef<\/strong> <\/strong><\/a>requested were:&#0160;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&quot;1) a crisp (yes, I want crisp!!) and light crust<br \/>2) proper reddish brown hue<br \/>3) open crumb structure with a creamy appearance<br \/>4) chewy texture<br \/>5) firm enough that when you break the baguette in half, it makes noise, yet soft enough that it doesn\u2019t break apart completely<br \/>6) Smell of wheat&#8230;&quot;&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>We&#39;ve tried to show these characteristics in the photos above.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>What&#39;s your favorite Boston area baguette?
