Here's a rundown of what's open in Boston on Thanksgiving, November 22, 2012.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

City, Town, State, and Federal offices and facilities are closed:<\/span> <\/strong>This includes Schools, Libraries, and the Postal Service. Only emergency services are available.<\/p>\n

Boston Parking:<\/span><\/strong> You don't have to feed the meters. Other parking rules apply.<\/p>\n

Street Sweeping:<\/strong><\/span> The city says, "Daytime street sweeping is suspended on city holidays<\/a>, but nighttime sweeping schedules remain in effect. Constituents are advised to call 617-635-4500 for exact details."<\/p>\n

Boston Trash Collectio<\/strong>n: The city says<\/a>, "Thursday, November 22, 7am \u2013 Saturday, November 24, 2012, 5pm <\/span>"Delay trash and recycling pickup 1 day only if you live in South Boston, Allston, Brighton, Dorchester, East Boston, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain*, Mattapan, Roslindale, or West Roxbury AND your trash and recycling is normally collected on Thursday or Friday. *If you live in Jamaica Plain and your trash is picked up 2 times per week, do not delay."<\/p>\n

Financial Services:<\/span><\/strong> As the British would say, this is a Bank Holiday with both banks and the stock markets in the United State closed. International markets are open.<\/p>\n
