The design element in yesterday's clue is part of our decaying infrastructure. It's on the Red Line subway entrance on Main Street in Cambridge adjacent to the Longfellow Bridge<\/a> (map<\/a>). So, if it should fall or pieces of it were to drop off, it could hit a Red Line train. <\/p>\n

It's hard to look at it now and realize how well designed it was and how even little details like these scuppers<\/a> that drained water from the barrel shaped roof were graceful as well as useful.<\/p>\n

Here's one of the corner elements. Lets hope it stays in place long enough to be repaired. <\/p>\n
