We\u2019re celebrating the arrival of June by pouring sparkling jewels from a bottle of Bailly Lapierre Cr\u00e9mant!<\/a> As the bubbles tumble into our flutes, there\u2019s a moment of pure joy while this sparkler releases its frothy treasure igniting silly grins all around. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubt that we\u2019re attracted to sparkling wine for its fun factor, but besides sight and sound appeal, it\u2019s the aromas and flavors that hold our attention! <\/p>\n

This Bailly Lapierre Cr\u00e9mant is a Blanc de Noirs<\/a>, \u201ca white made from black Pinot Noir grapes.\u201d And, since we\u2019re enormous pinot fans, we really like this wine. The winemaker calls the style, \u201cfull, deep, and powerful with a fruitiness in the mouth that conjures up a red…\u201d<\/p>\n

After our initial sips from a chilled bottle we used the words, \u201cnice, light balance, crisp finish, some toast on the nose.\u201d As it warmed, we were calling this cr\u00e9mant a \u201cbaby Bollinger!\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n

Agree or not, this sparkler definitely tastes like a more expensive wine.<\/p>\n

Plus, at around $18 a bottle, it\u2019s an exceptional value. We\u2019ve seen Bailly Lapierre Cr\u00e9mant de Bourgogne Pinot Noir at Bauer Wine & Spirits in Boston<\/a> and at Whole Foods\/River St., Cambridge<\/a>.  <\/p>\n
