And, thanks to a recent improvement in their services, you can obtain an ecard without visiting a library branch.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/bostonzest.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00e54fc42bb8883401b7c7289673970b-popup\" onclick=\"window.open( this.href, &#39;_blank&#39;, &#39;width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0&#39; ); return false\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"5646757752_5a4ea2ea2d_z\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00e54fc42bb8883401b7c7289673970b img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/bostonzest.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00e54fc42bb8883401b7c7289673970b-500wi\" style=\"width: 500px;\" title=\"5646757752_5a4ea2ea2d_z\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#39;s the message sent out on a recent blog entry:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&quot;Massachusetts residents can now get Ecards for remote access to various legal databases without visiting one of our&#0160;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass.gov\/courts\/case-legal-res\/law-lib\/libraries\/locations\/\">17 locations<\/a>. &#0160;The new service started on November 19th, and to date we have had about 60 requests for cards. &#0160;With your new card number, you can search RetrieveLaw for researching cases and statutes for Massachusetts and the federal government.&#0160;You can also search HeinOnline for law reviews and a variety of other unique databases, as well as newspapers, self help law books from Nolo and more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass.gov\/courts\/case-legal-res\/law-lib\/libraries\/services\/ecard.html\">This page<\/a>&#0160;has the online form to apply for a card. &#0160;You need to be a Massachusetts resident. &#0160;Your card will be issued within one to two business days.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>Databases are listed&#0160;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mass.gov\/courts\/case-legal-res\/law-lib\/databases\/\">here<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>What are you waiting for?&quot;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"http:\/\/bostonzest.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00e54fc42bb8883401bb07ccebda970d-popup\" onclick=\"window.open( this.href, &#39;_blank&#39;, &#39;width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0&#39; ); return false\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2014-12-27 at Saturday, December 27, 20149.48.48 AM\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00e54fc42bb8883401bb07ccebda970d img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/bostonzest.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00e54fc42bb8883401bb07ccebda970d-500wi\" style=\"width: 500px; border: 1px solid #33305B;\" title=\"Screen Shot 2014-12-27 at Saturday, December 27, 20149.48.48 AM\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For a running update on topical Massachusetts law information or changes as they take effect, follow the updates with an&#0160;<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mass.gov\/masslawlib\/\" target=\"_self\">RSS feed of their blog<\/a>&#0160;or on&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/masslawlib\" target=\"_self\">Facebook<\/a>&#0160;or&#0160;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/masslawlib\" target=\"_self\">Twitter.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now with a free ecard, we can research any topic we choose without the need to rent a car and go to a location outside of Boston.
