{"id":142,"date":"2019-07-01T09:33:00","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T09:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bostonzest.com\/?p=142"},"modified":"2019-07-01T09:33:00","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T09:33:00","slug":"toasting-july-with-szigeti-gruner-veltliner-brut-bzew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bostonzest.com\/?p=142","title":{"rendered":"Toasting July with Szigeti Gr\u00fcner Veltliner Brut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On a recent check of our wine rack, we remembered enjoying a few bottles of <a href=\"http:\/\/winebow.com\/Wine\/Vintage\/Szigeti_Gr%C3%BCner_Veltliner_Brut.aspx\" target=\"_self\">Szigeti Gr\u00fcner Veltliner Brut <\/a>&#0160;over the years. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bostonzest.com\/2011\/02\/february-begins-with-an-austrian-sparkle.html\">We first toasted with this back in 2011.<\/a> It&#39;s time to share the remaining bottle with friends at our July 1st toast to a Happy New Month.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"asset-img-link\" href=\"https:\/\/bostonzest.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00e54fc42bb888340240a494e1a1200d-popup\" onclick=\"window.open( this.href, &#39;_blank&#39;, &#39;width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0&#39; ); return false\" style=\"display: inline;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_4561\" class=\"asset  asset-image at-xid-6a00e54fc42bb888340240a494e1a1200d img-responsive\" src=\"https:\/\/bostonzest.typepad.com\/.a\/6a00e54fc42bb888340240a494e1a1200d-500wi\" style=\"width: 500px;\" title=\"IMG_4561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This wine is from Austria and is made from 100% Gr\u00fcner Veltliner grapes. This is a grape we turn to when we&#39;re eating foods that are difficult to pair with wine, like salads, asparagus, or artichokes. It&#39;s a food-friendly wine, also perfect with seafood, oysters, fried, salty, fatty dishes. As a grape we just enjoy, we often try any bottle we spot by a new producer on a wine list.&#0160;<\/p>\n<p>Trying wines from&#0160;different places, made with different grapes, and produced by&#0160;different methods adds spice to our monthly ritual.
