Maybe it’s just us, but it seems as though there are a lot of puppies in Boston this summer. Then again, in the midst of raising one of our own, maybe we’re just noticing more of these little ones. Or, in King’s case, not so little.
This handsome, four-month-old German Shepherd is growing fast and couldn’t wait to greet us, especially our Poppy.
When we all stopped to exchange sniffs (well, not all of us), King did a “hello pee.” Poppy told her new friend that she knows the feeling and, while I couldn’t be sure, seemed to be passing along some advice on the practice.
King, named in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and to salute a father’s work as a civil rights attorney, seems to be adjusting well to his new surroundings.
There’s a confident, self-assured, almost regal attitude about this guy. Just look at that face! Maybe we should call our Sunday Dog, “The Now & Future King of Boston Dogs!” Sounds good to us.
