  • Follow the Fall Foliage into the City of Boston

    We've been following the colors of fall as they tiptoe their way into the city. Yankee Magazine's foliage map now has our area shown as peak color. Our guess is that, here in the city, you'll still see some stunning scenes into November. We're still seeing lots of green as a backdrop to those early show-off trees.

  • Snowdrops, Crocus, and Tulips, Oh My!

    Walking along Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay yesterday, we spotted bulbs a poppin' in many of the sunny side front yards. Here's a sample of what you might see if you get out before a possible weekend snow covers them up again.

    These snowdrops were not quite open, but ready to bloom!

    Poking their first leaves through the snow, there were crocus all over the place.

    This yard has an assortment of bulbs showing pretty good growth. 

    Don't miss a photo opportunity. This Canon PowerShot G15 camera will give you what you need to take stills and video. Canon's G series is our all-time favorite for everyday cameras. We own the G10 and G11. They're a little bigger than the compacts most people use, but let you shoot with automatic settings or easy-to-use manual controls that please the many pros who use them as second cameras.
