A 7 alarm fire severely damaged a Back Bay condo building Saturday, injuring 3 firefighters and displacing approximately 35 residents. The blaze, officially blamed on careless disposal of smoking material, reportedly began around 2 p.m. on an upper floor of the 6 story structure at 31 Massachusetts Avenue. Dollar loss was initially set at 2.5 million.

While payment at meters will not be required on these six days, the time limit on the meters will be in effect and enforced in order to give as many visitors as possible a chance to take advantage of this opportunity. However, at parking meters where the time limit is four hours, vehicles may park for free for up to four hours on these six days."
